There are so many things to see and do in the Silver Coast including. Archaeological sites, from pre-historic caves to Cooperage Castles, Arab age Castles and Roman villages, aqueducts and bridges. Medieval Churches and Monasteries, 15 th century Forts, 17 th and 18 th centuries manor houses and also a number of Fortifications from the period of the French Invasions.

For nature lovers, walking tracks, are prepared and signalised in agreement with the European rules and also with a total extension of 120Km, between Salir do Porto and the area of the Protected Landscape in Serra de Montejunto. In Paúl de Tornada (Environment Interpretation Center), located in the Natural Reserve of Berlenga Island (the only one maritime reserve of the country), or in Serra do Socorro, the espeleologic and alpinism lovers can enjoy themselves.

For Water Sport and Beach lovers, Lagoa de Óbidos (Lagoon), offers excellent conditions to the active practice of nautical sports.

Plus there is the Sea gastronomy with excellent restaurants/fish-pond of Peniche and Lourinhã/Porto Barcas and the gastronomical influence of the convent is evident in egg rolls and “cavacas” (light crisp cakes) from Caldas da Rainha, been pies from Torres Vedras and sponge cakes from Lendal, Painho and Rio Maior; the handicraft, that we can highlight the Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro ceramic from Caldas da Rainha and the bobbin lace (most distinguished craft) from Peniche.

The Silver Coast is today, a future enthusiastic new destination for Golf and also one of the largest wine-growing areas in Portugal and in the World.
